Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has been singing all her life, motivated by her grandmother, who was a professional opera singer. She began performing locally around her town and county at the age of ten, and at age 11 sang the national anthem before a Philadelphia 76ers game. By the time she was 12, she had picked up the guitar and began practicing four hours each day, until her fingers started to bleed. Swift's parents began to support her music, and recognized her talent, perseverance, and budding future as a professional musician. The family began making regular visits to Nashville, TN, where Swift would perform casually and meet with songwriters in the area. The family decided to move to an outlying Nashville suburb, which accelerated Swift's career. While performing at a showcase at Nashville's Bluebird Café, Swift caught the eye of music industry veteran Scott Borchetta. He had plans to create a new label and decided Swift was one of the first acts he wanted to sign. Still a high school student fascinated by love (which she uses as her muse), she released her debut single, "Tim McGraw," in August 2006, followed by a self-titled album that October.

Rayven Symone

While most actors struggle through hundreds of auditions and bit parts before ever making it big, Raven had landed her career-launching role at the tender age of four. When she was just two, she was signed by the Ford Modeling Agency and her family moved to New York to help advance her career. In 1989, Raven auditioned for a part in the Bill Cosby movie, Ghost Dad. She was a little too young for the part, but Bill Cosby liked her so much that he found a part for her on his show, The Cosby Show, as his grand-daughter Olivia. Raven played the part of Olivia until 1992, when The Cosby Show went off the air. Within a year after The Cosby Show ended, Raven had already snagged another big part as Nicole Lee on the show Hangin' With Mr. Cooper. During her time on that show, Raven also managed to land her first big screen role in the movie The Little Rascals. From there, Raven was unstoppable - playing opposite Eddie Murphy in both Dr. Dolittle and Dr. Dolittle 2. She then appeared in both Fat Albert and The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement in 2004. She is a great role model for anyone who likes to shine.

Kelly Clarkson

Growing up in Texas, Kelly originally wanted to be a marine biologist, but when she was encouraged by the choir teacher at her junior high to join the school choir, her dreams changed. She started starring in school plays and continued on with her involvement in choir. Finally when she graduated high school, Kelly started working on demo and got serious about pursing her musical career. For the first few years after high school, Kelly didn't have much luck breaking into the biz. Just when Kelly ready to give up, her best friend, Jessica, convinced her to try out for American Idol. Suddenly Kelly was really on her way to becoming a music superstar. She quickly shot to number one and claimed the first ever American Idol title in 2002. Kelly Clarkson really hasn't slowed down since taking home the American Idol crown. Soon after she won, her debut album, Thankful, was released. It featured songs like Miss Independent and Beautiful Disaster. Some thought that Kelly's time in the spotlight might be over after her first disc, but she came back in late 2004 with her second disc, Breakaway. Breakaway turned out to be even better than Thankful, featuring hit singles like Breakaway and Since U Been Gone. This latest CD proves that Kelly isn't just a reality TV celebrity, she's a talented singer who still has a lot more to offer. She is a great role model for all actors, actresses and singers.

Aly and AJ

It was said that music and acting ran in the blood of the Michalka family. At just the young age of five years old, acting and music became Alyson's first love. Aly went to church to attend the Childrens' Performing Arts group. Through this involvment with acting she had grown to love it. When she was 11 years old she began working as a print model, and started studying acting even more. Now at just the tender age of 15 she is a professional singer/songwriter, and actress. She practices guitar and piano alongside her sister, Amanda or more commonly "A.J.", in which acts and shares part in a performing duo. "Aly & AJ" are coming up in the music industry being shown on MTV, VH1, and Disney. When Aly is not busy acting, singing, writing, or performing she loves to dance, horseback ride, read, hang out with her family, and her pets. You can watch Alyson every week as Keely on Disney's Phil of the Future. Amanda Michalka, sister of Aly, took after her older sister and began in the acting business at the age of nine. Amanda, more commonly known as A.J. got her first chance to put her acting to the test when she booked a national commercial on her very first audition. Since then she has been guest staring on many shows, including one's on CBS, FOX, HBO, ABC, the WB, and NBC. Her "big role" was one on the CBS show "The Gaurdian" in which A.J. played Shannon. Alongside her sister Aly, the two have formed a duo, "Aly & A.J.", in which are already known nationaly, appearing on MTV, VH1, and Disney.
