Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has been singing all her life, motivated by her grandmother, who was a professional opera singer. She began performing locally around her town and county at the age of ten, and at age 11 sang the national anthem before a Philadelphia 76ers game. By the time she was 12, she had picked up the guitar and began practicing four hours each day, until her fingers started to bleed. Swift's parents began to support her music, and recognized her talent, perseverance, and budding future as a professional musician. The family began making regular visits to Nashville, TN, where Swift would perform casually and meet with songwriters in the area. The family decided to move to an outlying Nashville suburb, which accelerated Swift's career. While performing at a showcase at Nashville's Bluebird Café, Swift caught the eye of music industry veteran Scott Borchetta. He had plans to create a new label and decided Swift was one of the first acts he wanted to sign. Still a high school student fascinated by love (which she uses as her muse), she released her debut single, "Tim McGraw," in August 2006, followed by a self-titled album that October.

Rayven Symone

While most actors struggle through hundreds of auditions and bit parts before ever making it big, Raven had landed her career-launching role at the tender age of four. When she was just two, she was signed by the Ford Modeling Agency and her family moved to New York to help advance her career. In 1989, Raven auditioned for a part in the Bill Cosby movie, Ghost Dad. She was a little too young for the part, but Bill Cosby liked her so much that he found a part for her on his show, The Cosby Show, as his grand-daughter Olivia. Raven played the part of Olivia until 1992, when The Cosby Show went off the air. Within a year after The Cosby Show ended, Raven had already snagged another big part as Nicole Lee on the show Hangin' With Mr. Cooper. During her time on that show, Raven also managed to land her first big screen role in the movie The Little Rascals. From there, Raven was unstoppable - playing opposite Eddie Murphy in both Dr. Dolittle and Dr. Dolittle 2. She then appeared in both Fat Albert and The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement in 2004. She is a great role model for anyone who likes to shine.

Kelly Clarkson

Growing up in Texas, Kelly originally wanted to be a marine biologist, but when she was encouraged by the choir teacher at her junior high to join the school choir, her dreams changed. She started starring in school plays and continued on with her involvement in choir. Finally when she graduated high school, Kelly started working on demo and got serious about pursing her musical career. For the first few years after high school, Kelly didn't have much luck breaking into the biz. Just when Kelly ready to give up, her best friend, Jessica, convinced her to try out for American Idol. Suddenly Kelly was really on her way to becoming a music superstar. She quickly shot to number one and claimed the first ever American Idol title in 2002. Kelly Clarkson really hasn't slowed down since taking home the American Idol crown. Soon after she won, her debut album, Thankful, was released. It featured songs like Miss Independent and Beautiful Disaster. Some thought that Kelly's time in the spotlight might be over after her first disc, but she came back in late 2004 with her second disc, Breakaway. Breakaway turned out to be even better than Thankful, featuring hit singles like Breakaway and Since U Been Gone. This latest CD proves that Kelly isn't just a reality TV celebrity, she's a talented singer who still has a lot more to offer. She is a great role model for all actors, actresses and singers.

Miley Cyrus

Born Destiny Hope Cyrus, her sunny personality soon changed her name to Miley at home. Her father, country star and actor Billy Ray Cyrus, nicknamed her "Miley" because she is "always full of smiles". Now every Disney Channel lover knows her as Miley Cyrus, the star of Disney's newest original show: Hannah Montana, where Miley plays a regular girl called Miley Stewart who has a secret double life as the biggest singing superstar of tv. It took a lot to this 13-year-old to earn the role of Disney's new tv queen. "All this hard work I've done my entire life is about to pay off," she says. She isn't recalling only the audition callback which started with 1000 girls, but the dedication she's put into singing and acting for years. Daughter of a counrty star who crossed over tv, Miley has been taking parts as extras in her Dad's shows since forever, and most recently was cast for an episodes in his drama series "Doc", aswell as tge role of Ruthie in "Big Fish" at age eight. Singing and playing the guitar have been a huge part of her life too. She assures she has written over 100 songs already. In fact, one of them will be featured in Hannah Montana. She is now recording one new song per episode so that will make over 20 songs by the end of the season, however, no soundtrack has been confirmed yet. When asked about the soundtrack, Miley stated by now the goal is making the best show possible plus there will be a Hannah Montana soundtrack over the summer, "or a Miley Cyrus album" she added. Soundtrack or not, Miley Cyrus will certainly be releasing an album sooner or later. She is signed with Hollywood Records for a four-album record deal. Gary Marsh, Disney Channel entertainment president said they chose Miley for the role of Hannah Montana because they saw a girl who has this natural ebullience and loves every minute of her life, which shows in her demeanor and performance. When she's not performing, Miley enjoys the company of her five siblings, Christopher, Braison Chance, Brandi, Trace and Noah Lindsey, and her dog Loco who lives with them in Los Angeles. The rest of her dogs, cats, horses, chickens and cows had to stay at their Nashville, Tennessee home when they moved to LA last December 2005 to start the filming. Miley had to say goodbye to her whole-life friends, so her new lifestyle also includes long hours on the phone plus the LA need: shopping. "I'm a big shoe person. Sometimes I'll be punky, the next day I'll be preppy. Every day after work, my mom and I go shopping. My dad is about to kill me. I say, 'We need it, daddy!'" Her hobbies include her job: dancing, cheerleading, singing, playing the guitar and writing music. She states, "As soon as I step on that stage, nothing matters. I don't think of it as work. It's just so much fun."
